User experience is one of those terms that sounds like it belongs in a conference room. It doesn't. It just means one thing: what is your website actually like to use?
Not what it looks like in a screenshot. What it's like for a customer on a phone, in a parking lot, trying to find your number before the light changes.
Design, navigation, content, speed. How fast the page loads. Whether the menu makes sense. Whether the words answer real questions or just fill space. All of it rolls up into one impression, and visitors form that impression in a few seconds.
A site that's hard to get around, or still advertising a special from two winters ago, tells people something. A site that's quick, clear, and current tells them something too. Either way, they got the message before you ever said a word.
People are about to hand you their phone number, maybe their credit card. Before they do, they look around. Does this place look maintained? Does it feel like a real business runs it?
A clunky, outdated site reads the way a dusty storefront window does. Nobody stands there thinking, I bet they're great, they're probably just busy. They keep walking.
When a site is easy to use, visitors stay and do something: call, fill out the form, book the appointment. When it fights them, they leave, usually for whichever competitor Google listed right below you.
Same traffic either way. The difference is whether your website helped people or got in their way.
Nobody leaves your website thinking about the color scheme. They leave with a feeling: that was easy, or that was annoying. That feeling is your brand now, whether you picked it or not.
None of this requires a big budget. It requires somebody actually thinking about the person on the other end of the screen, which is rarer than it should be.
Every website we build at CAN starts with your customer and what they need to see before they'll pick up the phone. Not sure what your site feels like to use? Most owners aren't; they never have to use it. Get in touch and we'll tell you straight.
Let's talk about your website and what it could be doing for your business.
